Emir Of Ningi Passes On Two Days After Medical Trip


The Emir of Ningi, Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, has passed on.


New Kogi Media learnt that he died on Sunday morning in Kano State.


He died at the Expert Alliance Hospital, Kano, just two days after returning from a medical trip to Mecca on Thursday, August 22, 2024.


Secretary of the Palace, Alhaji Usman Sule Magayakin Ningi, in a statement issued shortly after his demise, announced that the funeral prayer will be held at 4:00 pm at the Emir’s palace in Ningi.

Bashir Opaluwa Idris Civil Servants in Kogi State have expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo over the payment of New Minimum wage. On Wednesday this week, workers across the state received their October salary with reflection of the approved seventy two thousand, five hundred naira by the Governor. Reacting to the development, the Director Account, Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman Musa said the payment of the new minimum wage by Governor Ododo has relieved some of their problems. According to him, the development has brought joy to the workers, who have been advocating for a wage adjustment to alleviate the economic hardships they face. Chief Keke gave the assurance when National Executives of Bassa Cultural Development Union paid him a traditional homage at Oguma. The traditional ruler said there was need to promote the cultural heritage of the area so as to attract tourism and development.
