Kogi @ 33: Gov. Ododo Calls For Unity of the State



Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo says he will promote programs that will strengthen the Unity of the people in the state.


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this in a message the during Celebration of Kogi at Thirty three and the unveiling of Kogi International Carnival Logo in  Government House Lokoja.


The Governor Represented by the Deputy Comrade Joel Salifu said the people of the state must shun sentiment and unite for the transformation of the state.


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Congratulated the people for the creation of the state noting that the vision of the founding fathers must be upheld for the economic prosperity of Land.


The Governor reiterate that it is a new era hence prompt payment of salaries and carrying every members of the society along for collective Development of the state


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Charge members of the Inaugurated committee Kogi carnival holding in December this year to be faithful in the planning of the process to have a successful carnival.


Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo Commended the Organizers of the Programme stressing that the Occasion double as rejoicing in the victory of their supreme court Abuja.


The Governor maintained that his Victory is to Unite the people of Kogi State stressing that the people are one.


Speaking the Secretary to the state government,  Doctor Folashede Ayoade  Congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the celebration of Kogi at Thirty three and called for more Unity of the people to thrive in the Governance of the state


She also Described the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a political leader who has laid solid foundation for the present Administration to succeed in the Governance of the state through Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Deputy Comrade Joel Salifu.


Earlier The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Acharu Okpanachi, said the event also is to show case the rich cultural heritage of the state through diverse tradition and customs.


The Commissioner disclosed that the coming carnival holding in December will be more than just an event that will promote the economy and the cultural hospitality of the state.
