KOGI MOURNS THE PASSING OF MR. YUNUS USTAZ USMAN, SAN


1. The Kogi State Government has  received with deep shock and sadness,  the passing of a distinguished Kogite, a legal luminary and one of the brightest stars in the legal profession until the star was dimmed by death, Mr Yunus Ustaz Usman, SAN. 

2. Until his death, Mr Yunus Ustaz  Usman, SAN displayed exceptional professionalism and helped in building the body of legal knowledge. He was a shining example of the Kogi spirit that embodies excellence, industry and greatness. 

3. The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo described the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a brilliant gentleman whose works spoke more than his words , urging young Kogites to learn from the immaculate brilliance, honesty and hardworking attributes of the late SAN. 

4. Our heartfelt condolences go to the good people of Dekina Local Government Area, the immediate and extended families of the late legal icon; the Nigerian Bar Association over the irreparable loss. 

5. The death of Mr Yunus Ustaz Usman is a loss to Dekina LGA, Kogi State, the legal profession and Nigeria as a whole. His charming legal mien and excellence will be greatly missed. May Allah repose his gentle soul.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved Seventy Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira Minimum Wage  for Kogi Civil Servants with Immediate effect. The Governor also suspended tax burden on the approved sum for one year. Governor Ododo made this known during the unavailing of the 70 thousand Naira minimum wage after  signing the agreement. Governor Ododo said the new Seventy Two Thousand Five hundred Naira minimum wage should take immediate effects to enable the wage cope with the current situation in the country. The Chairman Minimum wage Committee, Mr Elijah Evinemi said the agreement on the minimum wage is not a victory for any political party but for the good of the masses. He appreciated the governor for giving the committee free hand to operate and achieve a common goal.

FHA TO COMMENCE THE REGULARIZATION OF PROPERTY DOCUMENTS OF ITS ALLOTTEES IN LAGOS STATE AND THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY

The Management of Federal Housing Authority will commence  regularization of property documents of some of its allottees  in Lagos state and the Federal Capital Territory. This was sequel to the decision signed by the management of FHA under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, Honorable Oyetunde Ojo. The exercise is to afford allottees in FHA estates  in these zones who built without approval, carried out development outside the granted approval, engaged in unapproved land annexation , alteration of prototype houses, deviation from approved building plans, unapproved mergers and subdivision, the opportunity to regularize their property documents.  The affected estates in Lagos state are: Festac Town, Gowon estate, Isheri Olofin 1, Isheri Olofin 2, Satellite 2 Navy Town, Satellite 6,  Egan A, Egan B, Egan ADB, Egan E, Egan F, Esuti (Right side), Esuti (Left side) Abesan 1,2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10A,IOB,11,12 and 13. GODWIN WAMBEBE  One Sport that Kogi State is known for and has won laurels for the State is Handball. No doubt, the game of handball has placed the 33 years old State on the World map as it has remained one of the few Sports that has brought fame, honour and accolade to the Confluence State. In the early years after it's creation, aside football, the game of handball has remained one game that Kogi State is known and recognized with as it has produced a handful of world class Stars who have gone ahead to represent and do Nigeria proud.  Every nook and cranny of Kogi State used to produce top handballers in the past especially the mid 90s into the Millennium with Idah local government area always taking the lead.
