Following the first stakeholders' meeting and the announcement of the timetable for the Kogi State local government election in Lokoja, the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has launched a grassroots sensitisation campaign across the state. The Commission began its sensitisation efforts with a visit to the palace of the Attah of Igala Kingdom, HRM Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, on Tuesday. The paramount ruler offered his blessings for a successful election. The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has directed its 104 affiliated youth organizations to remain on standby consultation ahead of the nationwide protest scheduled for August 1.
